Milestone for Bartholet: First gondola lift in Austria

Loser Bergbahnen in Altaussee launches the milestone project "Loser Panoramabahn 2022" in cooperation with Bartholet. This will take operation of the Loser ski resort to a new level and set a benchmark for a sustainable tourism concept. The cable car which will go into operation on 8th December 2022 will be the first gondola lift from Bartholet in Austria.
A Swiss cable car in Austria

The family-run Loser ski resort in Altaussee stands for natural recreation and quality tourism, true to the motto: "We stand for better instead of more". The Loser Bergbahnen share this quality consciousness with the family business Bartholet Maschinenbau AG, itself known for Swiss Quality, Innovation and Design. These are commonalities that connect and enable a successful cooperation. So far in Austria, Bartholet has completely renovated the stations of the Rigips Saint-Gobain material cable car in Bad Aussee from 2013 to 2016, and this year the legendary one-seater chairlift in the Polsterrinne on Präbichl is going back into operation. With the construction of the new installation on the Loser, the first Bartholet gondola lift in Austria is now being built.

Alpine mobility fit for the future

The 10-seater gondola lift overcomes an inclined length of 3’497 m, has a middle station with a turning point and connects the three most important traffic points in the ski resort: Ski arena valley station - Kehre 11 middle station parking - Loser Alm top station parking. Construction will start in April 2022 and as from ski season 2022, the new lift will replace the Loser-Jet 6-seater chairlift and the double chairlift, whose concession ends next year. The new gondola lift makes access to the Loser ski resort more ecologically compatible. The entire facade of the middle station and also the top station will be equipped with photovoltaic collectors. In summer, the gondola lift acts as a flexible counterpart to the panorama road, thus reducing car traffic. Guests travelling by public transport in Ausseerland can therefore reach the mountain much more easily.

Gondola ride with maximum comfort

The planned installation combines modern technology with 76 comfortable gondolas in the high-quality "Design by Porsche Design Studio". The luxurious gondolas offer passengers individual seats, an incomparable panoramic view and, thanks to the innovative dual spring system, a quiet ride. In addition, the cabins are equipped with ski racks on the outside. The spacious interior allows the transport of bicycles, prams and it is wheelchair-friendly. The ventilation system with hinged windows in both directions of travel and ventilation slots in the floor area guarantees ideal air circulation even in warm temperatures. With the new Bartholet 10-seater gondola lift, the top station can be reached comfortably all the year round within 13 minutes.
