Three new Bartholet premium ropeways for Switzerland

More comfort, capacity and an exclusive design are the hallmarks of the three new Bartholet lifts in Gstaad, Flumserberg and Arosa as of the forthcoming winter season. State-of-the-art technology in combination with a high-quality "Design by Porsche Design Studio" give the ropeways a unique character. Not only the comfortable benches open up a new dimension of driving feeling, but also the shortened driving times and increased transport capacities. The construction work at all three destinations is progressing rapidly.

Panorama gondola lift to Gstaad's local mountain

From the coming winter season, the new 1’500-meter-long transport installation on the Gstaad Eggli will be ready for operation. The replacement ropeway from Gstaad will be able to cope with 500 metres in height and eleven towers with a track of 6.45 metres. After Narvik (NO), this is another 10-passenger gondola lift from Bartholet. With the help of the Kamov heavy-duty helicopter, the towers and roller battery were flown and assembled in summer. The valley and mountain station have already been installed. The rope pull is scheduled for mid-September. The installation will be equipped with 20 luxurious gondolas and will carry 1’200 passengers per hour. The gondolas are characterised by laminated safety glass and a generous interior design including benches, intercom, WLAN equipment as well as interior and exterior lighting. The battery required for this is installed in the bottom of each gondola.

Up to the Maschgenkamm twice as fast

The new Flumserberg Tannenboden 8-passenger gondola lift now only takes half as long up to the Maschgenkamm, in fact ten minutes. The 3.2-kilometer-long ropeway runs over 20 towers and overcomes an altitude difference of around 600 meters. The new lift replaces a 4-passenger gondola lift on almost the same route. The bottom station has already been assembled and the helicopter assembly of the towers was carried out with the multi-purpose helicopter Super Puma. Bartholet's special new suspension devices make the assembly of the sheave train with the helicopter considerably easier, so that the towers and sheave trains could be assembled in just two days. The assembly of the mountain station as well as the rope pull and the splicing were carried out in summer, so that the scheduled commissioning for the upcoming winter season can take place. The lift, equipped with 105 gondolas, has a transport capacity of 2’400 passengers per hour. One of the gondolas was specially designed for the Swissartexpo. The artist collective RatAess from Vorarlberg opens up a completely new perspective on the gondola with various mirror elements. The "Art Gondola" will also be turning its rounds on the Maschgenkamm this winter.

Replacement of the 2-seater Brüggerhorn by a detachable 6-seater chairlift

Construction work on the Brüggerhorn in Arosa is also proceeding according to plan. The bottom station and the top station have already been fixed, the assembly of the towers will take place in September and the rope pull is scheduled for the end of September. Starting in December, 42 new premium-quality "Design by Porsche Design Studio" chairs will transport 1’600 passengers per hour up the Arosa mountain over an altitude difference of 430 metres within five minutes. Equipped with hoods and comfortable upholstered seats, the new 6-passenger chairlift with a length of 1,287 metres replaces the oldest chairlift on the also called "relaxing mountain". In summer, special suspension devices enable the transport of bikes. Operation in the evening and at night will also be possible.
