Comfortable ascent to 2'444 meters

Elegant and efficient: the new 6-seater chairlift from Bartholet transports skiers and hikers to the sun-drenched Brüggerhorn since its opening in December 2019. Within about five minutes, the lift overcomes over 400 metres in altitude. The artificial leather seats in a unique design guarantee a very pleasant ride.

Double capacity

Arosa Lenzerheide, the largest snow sports area in the canton of Graubünden (Switzerland) replaced the 49-year-old fix-clamped nostalgic lift Brüggerhorn with a modern detachable system. Equipped with 42 chairs, the new 6-seater chairlift transports around twice as many guests as before to the "relaxing mountain", namely at 1,600 persons per hour. The track has an inclined length of 1,287 metres and 11 towers.

The equipment of the chair includes bubbles, upholstered seats and a child safety lock. A special device on the chair enables transportation of bikes in summer. The lift was also equipped for night rides. It is the first chairlift of this type in the area of Arosa.

Ground level access

The entrance at the valley station, which is located directly next to the lively Weisshorn middle station, is now accessible at plane level. The bottom station includes a modern annex building with wardrobes, drying room, kitchen and recreation room for the employees.

Special attention is given to tower number 11, which was devoted to the former top ice hockey player and current Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arosa Bergbahnen AG, Lorenzo Schmid. In his ice hockey career as a team support for the EHC Arosa, the Zurich Ice Skating Club or as captain of the Swiss national team, he always wore the number 11 on his shirt. The number tag of the tower is designed in the retro shirt of the EHC Arosa and with the name of the player.
