Exciting updates from Varanasi

Construction work on Varanasi’s first urban ropeway is progressing rapidly. Installation of the first station, Vidya Peeth, has already been completed and marks a significant milestone in the realization of this innovative project. Six towers have already been erected, with additional ones currently under construction. The foundation for the third station, Yathra, has also been completed.

Our project manager took part in the erection of the first tower during a ceremonial event at which representatives of all companies involved performed the traditional coconut ritual. This ritual is deeply rooted in local beliefs and traditions and holds special significance in Varanasi, a city renowned for its spiritual heritage and pilgrimage sites.

The installation features a particularly high transport capacity of 3000 passengers per hour. A total of 150 gondolas operate along an overall line length of 3660 meters, serving five stations.
