4-seater chairlift in Ushuaia: construction progress at the end of the world

In the south of Argentina, nestled between the Andes, vast glaciers and the South Pacific, lies the city of Ushuaia. Known as “La ciudad del fin del mundo” – the city at the end of the world – it is the location of our new project. Here, a fixed‑grip quad chairlift is currently under construction, which will provide transport for visitors and travelers in this remote region.

In the initial installation phase, 126 chairs will be put into operation, resulting in a transport capacity of 1,450 passengers per hour. The final build‑out with 139 chairs will allow the chairlift to reach its full line capacity of 1,600 passengers per hour.

While spring begins in our part of the world, autumn starts in the Southern Hemisphere. As a result, the commissioning of the chairlift in Ushuaia will take place precisely at the beginning of the upcoming ski season.

For the project team travelling from Switzerland, the journey to the site in Ushuaia takes approximately 30 hours.

Further updates will follow shortly. Stay tuned.
