The first RopeTaxi in Flims is in operation

Since mid-December 2023, the new RopeTaxi system has been in operation and has already transported more than 50000 passengers. It impresses with a 20% higher occupancy rate compared to conventional systems and offers a high level of ride comfort. The advantages of this new transport solution include sustainability through fewer empty runs, which reduces maintenance costs and lowers energy consumption and noise emissions compared to traditional ropeway systems. RopeTaxi operates autonomously without on-site personnel and is monitored from a central control centre, resulting in lower operating costs. In addition, using the stations as garages outside operating hours reduces maintenance effort and space requirements, further increasing efficiency. Thanks to the garaging concept, the vehicles are ready for use at all times and can be easily adapted to different user groups, providing a high degree of flexibility. Furthermore, RopeTaxi offers passengers a pleasant experience with barrier-free access to the standing gondolas and a direct journey without transfers. Overall, RopeTaxi is a promising alternative in passenger transport that is efficient, user-oriented and already successfully in operation.
