Funitel

A Funitel is a gondola lift system with two parallel haul ropes, to which the cabins are attached via very short carriers. Since the distance between the haul ropes is slightly greater than the cabin width, the system offers exceptionally high wind stability and can transport up to 4.000 persons per hour. There are two types of Funitel systems. The first uses two endlessly spliced haul ropes, each equipped with its own drive and tensioning unit. The second variant operates with a single endlessly spliced haul rope guided over a double-grooved bullwheel, powered either by multiple drive units or by two separate drives.
