8-seater gondola lift in Meiling, Jiangxi, China
Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, is located on the southern shore of Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China. With more than six million inhabitants, it is an important economic and cultural centre with over 2200 years of history. Numerous temples, pagodas and museums shape the cityscape.
Just 15 kilometres away, the Meiling National Scenic Area covers an area of 150 square kilometres. Bamboo forests, waterfalls and rice fields alternate with historical sites and viewpoints, making the region a unique excursion destination.
The new ropeway system has been officially approved and is now in operation. It connects the city of Nanchang directly with the impressive natural landscape of the park.
The new ropeway installation has a total length of 5.5 kilometres and is divided into two sections. The first section, with a length of 4.2 kilometres, is the longest and offers a particularly impressive ride. A total of 112 panoramic gondolas are available, designed by the renowned Studio F. A. Porsche. They guarantee maximum comfort and outstanding views of the surrounding landscape.
The system is equipped with state-of-the-art ropeway technology to ensure safe and comfortable operation. This includes a high transport capacity for smooth visitor flows, vibration-damped cabins for maximum comfort, and energy-efficient drive systems with automatic speed control. These features are complemented by comprehensive safety mechanisms such as redundant braking systems and continuous real-time monitoring.
