Further Solutions

RopeTracker®

To prevent accidents in aviation, power lines or ropeway cables over 25 meters high must legally be recorded in the Federal Aviation Obstacle Chart. Until now, these entries were often too imprecise, leading to repeated collisions. For pilots, such cables are practically invisible.

To enhance safety, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA/BAZL) collaborated with Bartholet AG and the software company GeoIdee to develop the high-tech RopeTracker device.

This remotely controlled device, equipped with GPS sensors and laser distance measurement, records cable positions with centimeter-level accuracy. Efficiency is also significantly improved, with up to five installations measured per day.

With this innovation, pilot safety is greatly increased, and overhead cables and power lines are accurately entered into the Aviation Obstacle Chart, reducing risks and improving operational reliability.
