Fidaz milk ropeway: one of Switzerland’s first RopeTwin projects
More than just milk transport
The new Fidaz milk cableway, owned by the municipality of Flims, is operated fully automatically for alpine agricultural access and, from May to October, additionally serves tourist operations – without on-site personnel, but monitored via the nearby Foppa control centre of the Weisse Arena Group.
Easy and secure ticketing
Rides can now be conveniently booked online using a time-slot system – digital, straightforward and reliable.
Technology meets design
Two elegant 8-passenger panoramic gondolas, designed by Studio F. A. Porsche, transport up to 70 passengers per hour. The journey takes around 7 minutes and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
Helicopter-powered installation
Large, pre-assembled components are currently being spectacularly flown into position by helicopter. The existing milk cableway will remain in operation until then and is expected to be replaced by the new system in February. Stable winter weather is essential, as installation work can only continue safely under favourable conditions.
Start of operations in spring
If everything goes according to plan, the new Fidaz milk cableway will commence operations in May – as one of the first RopeTwin projects in Switzerland. A true pioneering project that charmingly combines technology, alpine farming and tourism.
Stay tuned – we will keep you informed about construction progress and exciting updates on the Fidaz milk cableway!
