RopeTwin in Fidaz, Switzerland

The complete RopeTwin installation was specifically designed to meet the demands of alpine operations. Through an online booking system, guests can reserve their preferred time slot and enjoy the journey to Flimserstein.
At the heart of the installation is its support for alpine farming. Up to 650 litres of milk are transported safely and efficiently down to the valley each day. In addition, cattle and other supplies can be transported whenever required, significantly facilitating the management of the high-altitude plateau.
At the same time, the system opens up new opportunities for hikers and excursionists.

Fidaz serves as the starting point of a popular via ferrata and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountain landscape. The milk ropeway provides convenient access to the high-altitude plateau and, in particular, offers an attractive alternative to descending on foot for the return journey.

The construction of the installation posed significant technical challenges for the project team. As neither the upper station nor the towers could be accessed using conventional methods, key construction activities had to be carried out with the support of helicopters. These operations required exceptional precision and could only be performed under suitable weather conditions.

With the successful commissioning of the system, the region now benefits from a modern, autonomous, and reliable transport solution that combines alpine agriculture, tourism, and technological innovation. During the journey, passengers enjoy spectacular views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sardona Tectonic Arena. The new milk ropeway bridges tradition and modernity, creating added value for local residents, alpine farming operations, and visitors alike.
